TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO
WHEREAS in 2022, in response to the overturning of Roe vs. Wade by the Supreme Court of the United States, Justin Trudeau’s federal Liberal government pledged millions more of taxpayer money for the expansion of abortion services across Canada;
AND WHEREAS in Ontario, OHIP funds all abortions which is believed to cost taxpayers over $50 million to perform more than 51,000 abortions annually;
AND WHEREAS in 2011, the Ontario government passed a bill blocking access to abortion data even with a Freedom of Information request;
AND WHEREAS in May of 2022 the Premier of Ontario promised that the Ontario government would maintain abortion access at its current levels.
We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to: Defund abortion services in Ontario.
